About Rick:
Rick Chafey founded Red Rock Contractors in 1998.
Rick Chafey received his Bachelors of Science in Construction Engineering & Management as an award-winning graduate from Arizona State University in 1995. Prior to college, Rick had worked within many of the construction trades, working as a residential framer during his summers, as well as working for both a stucco and concrete contractor for short stints.
Towards the end of his high school and beginning of college, Rick worked as an Electrical Superintendent for a commercial/industrial electrical contractor. Rick worked full time through the remainder of his college years as a Home Building Superintendent for one of the nation’s largest homebuilders, and upon graduation was hired as the Director of Construction for local manufacturing company. As Director of Construction, Rick completed multiple projects in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and Colorado ranging from 150,000 sf. manufacturing plants, retail centers, residential subdivision developments, and commercial remodels and tenant improvements.
Rick has taken his education and his real life experience and applied it to Red Rock Contractors, helping to develop Arizona’s most complete custom residential and commercial contracting company.

About Brett:
Brett Blauvelt is a native to Arizona and spent his High School years in California. He graduated from High School and moved back to Arizona to attend Mesa Community College on a Basketball scholarship. He graduated with a BS in Construction Drafting Technology and then moved on to Arizona State University to finish his education in Business Management.
After college, Brett started a construction clean up company for seven major pool contractors in the valley. After selling his company, Brett and long time friend Rick Chafey started and developed Red Rock Contractors. His responsibilities are directed toward the outdoor environment end of the company. He heads up the sales, design and construction aspect of the pools and landscaping. Brett’s ability to help put our clients dreams in motion and to stay on top of growing trends is one of the reasons why Red Rock is so successful.
Jessica Chrisman

About Jessica:
Jessica moved to Arizona from New York many years ago. She graduated from Scottsdale Community College with an Associate’s Degree. Her many years of accounting experience began with the Hilton in Mesa. Jessica continued her accounting experience and education working for several home builders in the valley over the years.
She was hired on at Red Rock in mid 2007 as the Accountant/Office Manager. She is in charge of all of Red Rock’s accounting as well as managing the office–including human resources responsibilities. Jessica also works closely with the Superintendents and Project Managers on all jobs. In addition to these duties, she has successfully tackled the responsibilities of advertising and marketing. These tasks include assisting with management of the company website, printed brochures & pamphlets, and advertising in local magazines.
During her off time, Jessica enjoys spending time with family, friends and her animals and goes to the beach any chance she gets. Jessica’s organization and determination are wonderful assets to Red Rock Contractors.
Jordan Walker

About Jordan:
Jordan is a native born and raised in Arizona, who grew up in the Mesa area. He graduated from Westwood High School and then attended East Valley Institute of Technology. Here he learned numerous different skills and trades.
He has a wide range of knowledge from framing, plumbing, welding, automotive, on & off road experience and project management. He is one of the guys on the Red Rock Team that is involved in many different duties from housing to the outdoor landscape environments. He now heads up the custom pool & spa division.
When Jordan is not working, he is spending quality time with family and friends camping, fishing, mountain biking, and exploring the outdoors in one of his off road vehicles.
Ben Haught

About Ben:
An Arizona native, Ben was raised on architecture, development, and ranching. He attended Highland High School, Mesa Community College, and Arizona State University. He is a proud father involved in church and community.
With over 20 years of experience in design, Ben has been instrumental in designing a variety of recognized residential, commercial, and industrial projects. He also has the experience of managing the construction of most of these projects. He is skilled in civil planning with recognized designs and groundbreaking development approvals in Idaho and Arizona. He has successfully managed projects with environmental sensitivities, challenging topography, equestrian facilities, neighborhood mixed-use, high-density residential, and fully sustainable communities. Ben designed and built Gilbert’s first hotels including the Gilbert DoubleTree hotel and conference center. He has designed and managed construction for government agencies such as TAACOM and Customs and Border Protection including port of entry and telecommunication facilities. He has worked with Freeport-McMoRan as a certified miner to design and build communication infrastructure for many of their Arizona mines. Ben is constantly self-educating, staying on top of the latest in technical training in architecture, project management, and construction safety.
Ben’s extensive management experience and his ability to produce clean, detailed construction documents has been an invaluable addition to the Red Rock Brand.
Jon Sefcik
Skilled Craftsman / Superintendent

About Jon:
Jon grew up in a small town in Medina County, Ohio. He has always been a mechanically minded person. After high school he enrolled in a local trade school where he began to hone these skills. Upon completion of his trade school education Jon accepted an apprenticeship in carpentry. During his 4 years as a carpenter’s apprentice he became a member of his local trade union. He then put his education to good use, working for the next 15 years as a skilled carpenter in Hawaii. Jon has been living in Arizona with his wife and children for the past 20 years and considers it home. He is an incredibly experienced and proficient skilled craftsman, not just in the field of carpentry but also as a welder and custom fabricator. His custom fabrication work can be seen in our photo galleries. In addition to his duties as our custom fabricator, Jon is also an experienced superintendent.
Jon’s special skill set makes him an invaluable member of the Red Rock Team.
Jake Lupe

About Jake:
Jake Lupe, a member of the White Mountain Apache Tribe, grew up in North Eastern Arizona. He graduated from Alchesay High School with a focus on Advanced Construction Technologies. Jake then attended ITT Technical Institute where he worked with a wide variety of computer programs. Upon successful completion of the Computer Drafting and Design program, he received his Associate of Science Degree in Computer Drafting and Design and graduated Summa Cum Lauda.
While attending ITT Tech, Jake worked in the demolition side of construction for over two years. After just three months in the industry he became a Project Lead, completing both residential and commercial demolition jobs. Jake then worked at Intel-Ocotillo Site as a C.A.D operator, providing assistance in the field resolving plumbing, piping, HVAC, and other mechanical issues. Other duties included drafting and detailing chemical lines to tools that make the chipsets, motherboards, and wafers components for computers, phones, and other electronic devices.
Jake strives for excellence and challenges himself to become more efficient and productive on a daily basis. He is always expanding his knowledge and skills as a member of the Red Rock Team.

About Joyce:
Joyce grew up in Michigan before making the move west to Arizona. She has extensive construction experience having worked for prominent general contractors in Arizona for more than two decades in many different capacities.
Joyce became a part of the Red Rock Team in August 2018. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, dog, family, and friends, off-roading, at the sand dunes, and boating, anything outdoors. She is also a proud Costco Member since July 1996!

Jen, previously a licensed New Mexico General Contractor from 2006-2016, has been intrenched in the residential and commercial construction & design industry since 2000. Her company built and achieved the first privately funded LEED Platinum Building Certification in NM. Her drive for creating unique projects and attention to detail positioned her to the forefront of the luxury home building & design industry in Albuquerque. She has been a NM realtor since 2012 and is also licensed in AZ. With multiple CAD Certifications and years of experience in design she has also achieved the NCIDQ Certification, which is globally recognized as the highest standard for an interior designer. Family is what brought her to Arizona and now she is excited to be a part of the Red Rock family.

About Jack:
Jack, originally from Chicago, Illinois, grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and attended Northern Arizona University. He graduated with his Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics in 2016. He then moved on to a small design and build company, where he was a design engineer and project manager. Jack produced innovative designs with an in-house team to create custom homes for clients using AutoCAD and Revit.
Jack joined the Red Rock team in 2019. He is currently applying his talents to draft construction documents for a multitude of projects. He is excited to utilize his creativity and technical skills to assist the team in developing exceptional products. He is always willing to step up to any challenges that arise, as well as lend a helping hand. Jack hopes to continue to grow by gaining valuable experience with new opportunities at Red Rock.

About Chris:
Chris moved from California to Arizona when he was 10 years old, calling Mesa his home for over 30 years. He started in the building industry as a teenager and has never looked back. He built his first custom home at the age of 19. He worked his way through school while building high-end custom homes, commercial, medical, and retail construction. Chris’s Custom projects have gained attention from Fox 10’s “Cool House” segment, and Channel 12 “Sunday Morning Walk Through”. His projects have also been awarded several “Best of Show” and “People’s Choice” awards. Along with high-end homes, Chris has extensive experience in doctor and dental suites where he incorporated that high end luxury experience.
After school, Chris started working for KB Home and quickly was managing 3 communities and 10 Superintendents, and 3 Customer Service Technicians. He used his time in the production market to learn and implement a fast-paced schedule and still produce a fully customized product without sacrificing quality. He moved into managing multi-family housing projects for KB Home, as well as land development. Chris became interested in Land development where he found an excitement in turning raw land into a new thriving community or Business complex. He has multiple experiences developing and building multi-family, and mixed-use buildings throughout Arizona.
When Chris is not working, you can find him coaching kids in after school sports, and volunteering for the Boy Scouts. He finds absolute happiness in being a husband and a Dad to his 11-year-old daughter. He loves to spend as much time with his family as possible. Chris has an almost unhealthy love for anything with a motor. He is easy to spot at many car events held throughout the year.

About Tom:
Tom, a 4th generation Arizona native, grew up in Tempe and attended Arizona State University where he received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. He is still very much involved in his hometown community as a member of the Tempe Diablos Charity.
Tom has an extremely wide range of project management experience from master planned community land development and hotel casino outdoor environments to nuclear power plant facility improvements. He earned his professional engineering license while working for APS as a design engineer and project manager at Palo Verde Nuclear Power Plant. Tom holds a Professional Engineering License in the State of Arizona and earned a PMP certification from the Project Management Institute.
In 2018, Tom started Roca Verde Design Build with Red Rock owners Rick and Brett. This sister company of Red Rock is focused on servicing the Cannabis Industry. We put together a team of experts including several design engineers, project managers, and a master cannabis cultivator consultant.
